Hey. I’m Mel. Founder of Make More Magic.

Outdoorsy gal. Adventure seeker. Wild swimmer. Crafter. Interior design lover. Sunrise chaser. Teeny van owner. The list goes on.

I’ve always been someone who has enjoyed a lot of different things and was one of those kids who would search for the magic all around me. But as I got older, I found that my world started to become smaller and I felt the pressure to pick one path, to narrow down who I was and what I loved. I decided to pursue the academic route and qualified with a Masters degree in Law in 2016, entering the corporate world shortly after, but something never felt quite right and over the years, I started to feel stuck.

At the start of 2019, I was at my lowest point and had forgotten what it felt like to feel true joy. After a tough couple of months, I began to realise that I was the only person who could rewrite my story. I took up old hobbies, spent more time outdoors and started to say yes more.

As I spent more time outdoors, I also started to pay more attention to nature’s rhythms and the changing seasons around me and something started to shift. I noticed how spring brought new energy, how summer was a time for endless adventures, how autumn encouraged reflection and letting go, and how winter reminded me to rest. The seasons became my anchors, and taught me how to slow down, tune in, and find beauty in every phase of life.

As my mindset started to change, I decided to really put myself out of my comfort zone and *deep breath* booked my first solo trip to Canada. It really was one of those life changing trips where I observed the world around me and realised there is magic all around us, if you look hard enough.

Fast forward a few years, and these days, I barely recognise that girl from 2019. My life is full of magic these days. Whether that’s the magic of a sunrise walk, the magic of cold water or the magic of one of the great loves of my life - the outdoors.

Over time, I started to think more about community and connection. What if a space existed where women could come together to live more intentionally and find joy in the simple, seasonal moments. In October 2023, I began hosting outdoor and creative events inspired by the seasons, and just like that, Make More Magic was born.

Now, my mission is to help women reconnect with themselves and the seasons - to slow down, step outside, and rediscover the joy of living in rhythm with the world around us. Because life’s too short not to create your own kind of magic, season by season.

If you’re reading this, it sounds like you may be ready to make more magic in your every day life. If that’s the case, I really hope that you’ll join us on a future event.

Our Values

What are people saying…

Kelly, Attendee at Magic of Autumn event

“Thank you so much for today. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was so lovely. It was so nice to wander between everyone to talk and meet them, everyone was so nice! The walk was cute (I‘ve finally dipped my toes into the outdoorsy world!) and the lantern workshop was so well done! You should be really proud of yourself Mel.”

Rachel, Attendee at Magic of the Seasons event

“What a great way to get out there, do something new and meet like minded women at the same time. These events are such a wonderful idea and Mel is a lovely, thoughtful, creative and kind host.”

Kelly, Attendee at Magic Weekender: Magic of Stars

“I had such a great time at the first Magic Weekender event! The days were wonderfully planned and organised with a nice balance of activities and free time. Mel did a fantastic job of hosting and everything ran so smoothly. It was facinating getting to know all the other women and hearing their inspirational stories. The group walk had stunning views. A personal highlight for me was the stargazing, it was an amazing experience seeing our skies littered with so many bright stars and learning lots of facts about them! Finally the dreamcatcher workshop was a perfect way to end the weekend - we all unleashed our inner creative side and really got stuck into making our items, expertly demonstrated and led by Mel as always! Overall I would highly recommend attending Mel's events, they are so wholesome and I love going on new walks, meeting amazing women and trying different arty crafts!”

Helen, Attendee at Magic of the Seasons and
Magic of Fire events

“I’ve attended 2 of Mel’s magical events and loved both of them! Mel is so welcoming to everyone there, she’s like the friend you haven’t met yet! I personally love all things outdoorsy & these events have been a great way for me to hang out with like minded ladies, even ones who will cold dip in December with me! It’s been great learning new things about myself, new skills (hello campfire) and it’s been an added opportunity for me to get creative! I can’t wait to attend future events and see what else Mel has in store for us all. Keep up the magic!”

Rachael, Attendee at several events

“I've now been to four events, including the first weekender. Each time, I leave feeling so grateful I mustered up the courage to book & show up, despite often not knowing anyone. Everyone I've met has been so warm and just as open as I am to be chatting with someone new. I also enjoy that the events are so varied & engaging, given that there's usually always a crafty or creative element added to the mix of the day. This part is actually more outside my comfort zone than the rest, as I don't consider myself the craftiest of people but with Mel's patient guidance, I've always surprised myself. Between managing to sculpt a boob pot out of clay for International Women's Day to making the cutest little lantern & a colourful dreamcatcher, I've left each event with a unique souvenir all of which have found their own cozy spot in my home. If you're considering booking an event, all I can say is go for it. You never know who you're going to meet or how you might surprise yourself (in a good way!). I feel like Mel is building a beautiful community with this business & I love the idea of more women getting as much out of it as I have.”
